Whilst viewing the website of fellow John Hoar devotee, Geoffrey Teece, I was particularly taken with a sepia picture he had painted of The Bridge at Topsham - very much a tonal exercise. So taken was I that I decided to have a go - however having tidied up I could not find my sepia paint (!) so wheeled out the Davys Grey and mixed it with Paynes Grey as required. It does make you think about tone when the actual colour is the same throughout - if you know the pub then I hope you recognise it!!
